Saina loses to Zhou in Singapore Open badminton semis

India's Saina Nehwal's campaign in the Singapore Open Super Series badminton tournament came to an end as she lost to Mi Zhou of Hong Kong in the semi-final here Saturday.
The unseeded Indian went down 21-17, 19-21, 11-21 to fifth seeded Zhou in 55 minutes.
In the title clash Sunday, Zhou will face Denmark's Tine Rasmussen, who defeated fourth- seeded Mew Choo Wong of Malaysia 21-10, 22-20 in just 35 minutes. Saina began well, winning the first game comfortably, but lost the second narrowly. In the decider, she just faded away without putting up much of a fight.
It was a creditable performance from World No.30 Saina, the first Indian girl to enter a Super series semi-final and also her best showing in two years after her win at the Philippines Open in 2006.
Though she reached the quarterfinals of some events, she was not able to match the success of her maiden international tournament.
Her performance here will also be a major boost for Saina in her quest for an Olympics medal in Beijing.
