Regina's Scott Perras set to compete in international biathlon championships

REGINA ? One of Regina's busiest international athletes is seldom able to display his considerable talents anywhere close to home.Scott Perras, a sixth-year member of Canada's biathlon team, spends a considerable portion of his time in Europe. For example, he is currently in Dobbiaco, Italy, at a training camp that serves as preparation for the International Biathlon Union world championships. The worlds are to run from Thursday until March 13 in the Russian town of Khanty-Mansiysk."Although it will be cold, it's nothing that a prairie boy won't be able to handle,'' Perras, 27, says lightheartedly via e-mail from Italy.Shortly after the world competition, Perras will return to Canada for the national championships, to be held March 21-27 in Charlo, N.B."Even though my largest goals lie on ...
