Man shot at in Metro station

A 42-year-old man was shot at by unidentified persons as he was walking down the stairs inside a Metro station in east Delhi Saturday, police said.

Shibu, resident of Trilokpuri, was shot at around 5.40 p.m. inside the Mayur Vihar metro station.

He received a bullet on his back and was rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri hospital in an unconscious condition.

A senior police official said he entered the metro station crying that someone had shot him and collapsed near the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel on duty.

A probe into the incident has been ordered to trace the culprits.

"As the victim is unconscious so far, the identity about the shooter is yet to be ascertained," said the official.
