DHAKA, Bangladesh - Follwoing the collision of two Boeing planes at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport's hangar, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended five employees, including the chief engineer.
The decision was made during a Biman Board meeting based on the ministry of civil aviation and tourism's report.
Aircraft Chief Engineer, three engineers, and a GSE Operator are among the staff who have been suspended.
A Boeing 737-800 and a Boeing 777-300ER were damaged on April 10 and taken to the engineering and maintenance unit.
The civil aviation ministry and Biman organized separate committees to investigate the situation when it occurred.
This was the third such occurrence since mid-February, resulting in the grounding of many planes and raising doubts about the national flag carrier's handling.
