Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], July 1 (ANI): BJP leader N Ramchander Rao on Tuesday expressed gratitude to the party's senior leadership following his appointment as the President of the Telangana BJP state unit and affirmed that he would work towards securing victory for the party in the next state elections.
Rao further stated that the party, under his leadership in Telangana, will intensify its efforts on the ground to strengthen its presence in the state.
'I thank our national leadership and all other senior leaders of the party who have posed their faith and confidence in me and has decided to make me the state president of Telangana state unit. I will definitely see that the Telangana BJP works hard, and our aim is to come to power in Telangana in the next elections. In this regard, the cadre, the leaders together will have to work hard, and I will strive for that,' Rao told ANI.
On Tuesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appointed N Ramchander Rao as the President of the Telangana State Unit, succeeding Union Minister G Kishan Reddy.
This appointment signals the party's clear intent to return to its foundational principles and reinforce its grassroots connection in the state. A veteran of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Ramchander Rao brings to the position a rare combination of ideological clarity, legal acumen, and decades of political experience, a release from the party stated.
Within the BJP, Rao has held several key positions, including BJYM Secretary, City Unit Vice President, State Convenor of the Legal Cell, National Legal Cell Member, State General Secretary, and Official Party Spokesperson.
The BJP Telangana unit also extended its heartfelt gratitude to the national leadership, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Party President JP Nadda, for their decision.
'With Ramchander Rao at the helm, the party is confident of achieving new milestones and deepening its connect with the people of Telangana,' the release said. (ANI)
