Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], March 10 (ANI): The ICC Champions Trophy final ended on a celebratory note for the Indian cricket fans as Team India defeated New Zealand by four wickets on Sunday.
As the entire nation celebrates the monumental victory, Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor shared his thoughts on the win, describing India's performance as 'fantastic.' Shahid also mentioned that he watched the entire match 'while preparing' for his IIFA performance.
While speaking to the media at the IIFA 2025 event on Sunday, March 9, the 'Kabir Singh' actor, while praising Team India's consistency, said, 'Fantastic. I was watching the entire match while we were preparing for the show tonight, and I mean they've not lost a single match.'
'I think they've lost just one match in the last 23 matches they've played in ICC championships, which is an absolutely breathtaking record. So many congratulations to the team. We're all so proud and happy, and we're also wearing blue,' the actor added.
Team India delivered an exceptional all-round performance to secure the ICC Champions Trophy title in Dubai. Captain Rohit Sharma led from the front with a crucial half-century, while Shreyas Iyer's solid knock and impressive bowling from spinners Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav sealed the win.
This also marks India's third ICC Champions Trophy victory. The team first won in 2002, sharing the title with Sri Lanka, and later lifted the trophy under MS Dhoni's captaincy in 2013.
Shahid set the stage on fire on Sunday night with his power-packed performance at the star-studded event. The actor also grooved to 'Mauja Hi Mauja, ' one of the hits from the iconic film 'Jab We Met', which also starred actress Kareena Kapoor.
