New Delhi [India], May 8 (ANI): After Operation Sindoor has been successfully executed by the Indian armed forces leaders from across the political spectrum have voiced strong support for the armed forces and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's response.
Speaking to reporters, Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Jha called the strike carried out by Indian Armed Forces a 'courageous act.'
'PM Modi, in our district Madhubani, said that the Pahalgam attack has wounded the soul of India and we will respond to it with something even bigger than their imagination. All the terrorist sites have been destroyed... The Indian Army's Operation Sindoor was a courageous act,' he said.
Jha added that he would be attending the all-party meeting convened to discuss the national response. 'I will be attending the all-party meeting. On this issue, there is no opposition and ruling party -- all are standing together with the nation and the Prime Minister,' he said.
Echoing this sentiment, Union Minister Giriraj Singh praised the military. 'The people of India are proud of the country's Armed Forces, who have upheld and protected the honour of 'sindoor',' he stated, referring to the vermilion that symbolizes marital dignity of Hindu women.
Meanwhile, an all-party meeting called by the Centre over Operation Sindoor is underway at the Parliament Annexe building. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh briefed political parties over India's action on cross-border terrorism.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister JP Nadda, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi are among several others who participated in the meeting.
Ahead of the meeting, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wishes that the country shouldn't be divided in such a situation.
'Operation Sindoor has been successfully executed by the armed forces, and the government is very clear about it. PM Modi's intentions have already been known to the world. The PM desires that in such a situation, we shouldn't be divided. It is a situation where every Indian must be united,' he told ANI.
This meeting comes as the Indian Army proportionately responded to the unprovoked small-arms and artillery guns firing by the Pakistani Army across the Line of Control (LoC) during the night of May 7 and May 8, as per the officials. (ANI)
