Amritsar (Punjab) [India], May 19 (ANI): In the aftermath of conflict between India and Pakistan, the locals in Amritsar and nearby villages stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the armed forces, who they say dedicated all efforts to protect religious sites in the border areas, including the Golden Temple.
An elderly local from a village in Amritsar said that the residents were assisting the armed forces to the best of their abilities and stood with them since they protected the entire city and civilian lives from air assault by Pakistan during the conflict.
'We are trying to assist the forces as much as possible... The drones flew the other day, but they brought down each one of them. They protected Sri Harmandir Sahib (The Golden Temple) and the rest of the city. They also protected the rest of the religious places. We stand with our forces shoulder-to-shoulder,' the elderly man told ANI.
Jasbir Singh, another local from a village near the India-Pakistan border, praises the Indian Army for securing the border and ensuring the safe stay of civilians in the cities near the border areas of Punjab.
'Our army is the pride of our nation... We are able to live in our cities because our army secures our borders... It is because of them that we are living here peacefully. In the tensions that arose in recent days, the army came here near our village and fields. We stood with our army as much as we could, and they also fulfilled the promise of protecting us,' Singh told ANI.
Meanwhile, the soldiers of the Panther Division of the Indian Army remain in alert mode, full of enthusiasm, displaying a glimpse of their valour. Speaking to ANI, the soldiers said that they have been trained to enter and kill the enemy from within.
'We are representatives of the panther...We will enter and kill the enemy from within, now we don't fear anyone. There is revenge in the mind, there is passion in the heart and pride in the eyes. To uproot terrorism, India has launched Operation Sindoor,' the soldiers said.
The Indian Army's Air defence systems played a critical role in repelling Pakistan's misadventures. The Army on Monday showcased a demonstration of how Indian Air Defence systems, including AKASH missile system, L-70 Air Defence Guns, saved the Golden Temple in Amritsar and cities of Punjab from Pakistani missile and drone attacks.
India's Air Defence Systems proved their prowess at the height of the tensions between the two neighbours, intercepting numerous drones, missiles, micro UAVs, and loitering munitions, emerging as a globally actionable defence asset. (ANI)
