Agartala (Tripura) [India], August 29 (ANI): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has held Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav responsible for the alleged abuses hurled at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother at the Opposition's Voter Adhikar Yatra event in Bihar's Darbhanga.
The Tripura CM claimed that due to 'provocation' by the Opposition leaders, an 'environment of anger in the entire country' has been created, which led to such abusive language being used at the rally.
'Such abusive language has been used due to the provocation of Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, which is why there is an environment of anger in the entire country. Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav should immediately apologise to Bihar and the people of the country,' CM Saha told ANI.
While condemning the alleged abuses, CM Saha said that the opposition parties are not able to digest the development happening in the country under the leadership of the son of a poor mother.
'This is condemnable. We have seen that there has been condemnable behaviour and words used against the Prime Minister, as he belonged to a poor family. They (Congress) are not able to digest how the country is moving forward under the leadership of the son of a poor mother. The language used this time has crossed all limits,' he added.
Reacting to the alleged insults, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami claimed that the opposition alliance is unable to 'tolerate that a son of a poor mother' has become the Prime Minister of the country.
'This misdeed is not only an insult to the Prime Minister but also a contempt for the glorious tradition of Bihar. Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi should immediately apologise to the countrymen for this shameful act. The INDI alliance is unable to tolerate that the son of a poor mother became the Prime Minister of the country, and the public gave him a place in their hearts,' Uttarakhand CM said.
BJP leader Krishna Singh Kallu also filed a complaint against the Congress leader for using abusive comments against PM Modi, calling for putting a stop to the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in the poll-bound state.
The Opposition party, in turn, has hit back that the BJP is 'raising 'irrelevant' issues to distract from the real ones. (ANI)
