New Delhi [India], January 13 (ANI): BJP National Vice President Saroj Pandey claimed on Tuesday that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is afraid and is not maintaining the 'dignity' of her post. She took a jibe at the Chief Minister while saying that a person holding a constitutional post should not be 'so fearful'. In response to Mamata Banerjee's questions about the ongoing SIR, through letters to the CEC Gyanesh Kumar, the BJP leader told ANI that Banerjee's allegations are 'incomprehensible' and that, in a democracy, she should trust the people.
Speaking to ANI, BJP National Vice President Saroj Pandey said, 'Why is Mamata Banerjee so afraid? A person holding a constitutional post should not be so fearful. Mamata Banerjee represents West Bengal, and during this period, she has been making allegations on a range of issues. Mamata Banerjee is not even maintaining the dignity of her post. Repeatedly making allegations against the BJP is incomprehensible. In a democracy, it is necessary to trust the people. I believe she has lost confidence in her own team. I don't understand the constitutional justification for making allegations against the BJP. Mamata Banerjee should not misuse her position. Mamata Banerjee is going to lose the upcoming elections.'
In relation to the I-PAC controversy, Saroj Pandey told ANI that Mamata should not be afraid of an investigation by a constitutional institution like the ED, as, according to her, they are just 'doing their job'. She also alleged that the Chief Minister is supporting a particular community or a specific group for vote-bank politics. She also demanded that Mamata needs to 'reflect' on her behaviour.
Speaking about the I-PAC controversy, Saroj Pandey said, 'The way Mamata Banerjee is behaving and making allegations against the ED, if constitutional institutions are doing their job, then why is Mamata Banerjee afraid of the investigation? The situation in Bengal has not been particularly good even before this. The democratic rights of the people are being violated in Bengal. Mamata Banerjee specifically supports a particular community or a specific group for vote-bank politics. Mamata Banerjee plays with India's identity. She repeatedly tries to break India's integrity, so I think Mamata Banerjee should reflect on her behaviour and strengthen her party, the Trinamool Congress.'
On Tuesday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee once again wrote to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, raising questions about ongoing Special Intensive Revision and Artificial Intelligence-driven digitisation errors in the 2002 electoral rolls, which, according to her, are causing widespread hardship to genuine voters during the Election Commission's SIR exercise.
