Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], January 24 (ANI): All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Saturday targeted Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, terming him a 'puppet' CM, while highlighting a bomb attack on a police vehicle near the Trichy-Chennai highway.
Taking to the social media platform X, Palaniswami said that while CM Stalin was 'patting his own back and boasting' in the state assembly, 'some mysterious individuals have hurled country-made bombs at a police vehicle near the Perambalur toll plaza on the Trichy-Chennai highway.'
'In the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly today, while puppet Chief Minister Stalin was patting his own back and boasting away, near the Perambalur toll plaza on the Trichy-Chennai highway, some mysterious individuals have hurled country-made bombs at a police vehicle,' EPS wrote on X.

According to Palaniswami's X post, the incident occured when the police officials were escorting a 'rowdy' known as Vellai Kali from Madurai for interrogation, stating that his name is linked to several criminal cases. Citing media reports, the AIADMK general secretary claimed that four police personnel were injured in the bomb attack and have been admitted to the hospital.
'This brutal incident occurred when police were taking a rowdy known as Vellai Kali from Madurai, who is connected to various cases, for interrogation. News reports indicate that 4 police personnel, who had come for the rowdy's protection, sustained serious injuries in this bomb-throwing attack and have been admitted to the hospital,' Palaniswami wrote.
The former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister criticised the current Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government, asserting that law and order had become a 'laughingstock,' alleging that criminals operate without fear of either the police or the state administration.
'It seems that those engaging in criminal acts have absolutely no fear of either the police or this government. In a situation where law and order is being made a laughingstock, one wonders who Chief Minister Stalin--who's been spinning the wheel of governance somehow or the other--will try to blame for this incident. I strongly condemn Chief Minister MK Stalin for not allowing the police to act independently,' EPS wrote on X. (ANI)
